Finally Czech mountain resorts report improve of skiing conditions. Temperatures dropped below 0 degrees and it is possible to use the snow cannons. There is also a bit of new snow. Most resorts are operating thanks to “technical” snow. According to the server http://www.snehove-zpravodajstvi.cz (only CZ version) Krkonose mountains have maximum 40 cm snow (north from Prague), Jeseniky (far North-East) has the most snow at Praded (almost 70 cm) and the south of the Czech Republic – Sumava reports maximum 35 cm. The west part of the Czech Republic represented by Krusne Hory have the most snow at Klinovec (30 cm). However most resorts are still not operating. Hopefully the snow situation will get better. It has been a while since we drove someone to Spindleruv Mlyn or Pec pod Snezkou. Other favourite resorts where we drive a lot are in Rokytnice na Jizerou and area around Harrachov.
Up to date snow situation is monitored by many webcameras. It is possible to watch them all at http://www.holidayinfo.cz.
